Children Hypnotherapy

I am passionate about helping children; I have worked with children for over 15 years in various settings such as schools, fostering teams, mother and baby units and in the home.

I see children who experience a range of issues, such as bullying, exam stress, bed wetting, nail biting, anxiety, fears, rejection, low confidence, anger management, sleep issues, hyperactivity, self-harm, and children who have experienced parental separation & divorce. I aim to build on a child’s self-esteem and confidence by giving them the tools to navigate through life more positively. I use a combination of approaches such as mindfulness, relaxation, creative play, workbooks and talking therapy. Hynotherapy is an evidence-based tool, it helps children use focused attention and imagination to train their brain, create new pathways and help them achieve their goals.

What can it help with:

Bedwetting

Anxiety

Sleep issues

Anger

Motivation issues

Behaviour issues

What happens in the session?

A pre-consultation will take place with the parents and a discussion about your child's needs; this can take place via Zoom or telephone. The first session is gathering further information about your child’s needs and what you would like your child to achieve from the sessions. We will discuss how the sessions would be conducted, such as play therapy, guided visualisation, mindfulness, hypnotherapy and a space for the child to express their feelings and emotions. Some children may wish to have a parent in the room initially to help them feel relaxed, and that is perfectly fine.

Appointments can be booked on weekdays after school and at weekends, children can be seen at the Enfield therapy room by appointment only, or home visits can be arranged. Please note that the full fee will be charged if you book a session and cancel in less than 48 hours.

Online video consultations are available.

How Many Sessions?

Each session is individually tailored to the child's need, and I like to move on when the child has safely made changes. Hypnotherapy sessions can be between 2-4 sessions, although some children may need more depending on the work required. Personalised recordings can also be requested.

At what age can my child have hypnotherapy?

Children are usually very open to hypnotherapy; they use their imagination and are very good at visualisation. Children can identify with characters and use their ideas to make up stories. A child's age is an essential factor as it will determine their level of understanding and ability to relax. The age range that I would recommend is from 5 or 6 years upwards.

How much does it cost?

Sessions are 60 minutes at £90 per session.
